Imagine what David felt when he was stood to challenge Goliath. He was so committed to what he believed in despite the odds, he decided to conquer the biggest most feared warrior. This determination is the same commitment that ReP gives to defying the boundaries of great music. One thing‟s for sure, even if the odds are against him ReP knows he must prove his point to the world. Born Adrian Sandy, ReP at an early age was drawn to music. Learning from an uncle establishing himself as an upcoming entertainer, and two brothers on the hip-hop and reggae scene as DJ‟s, music quickly became a major influence in his life. Writing songs soon became an outlet and therapy, as he dealt with the loss of his mother at the age of 12. Since then, ReP has developed this unique skill into a creative and experimental style that brings a necessary essence to hip hop; fusing passion with true life relevance thru a creative cadence.
ReP‟s road to success as many before him, has been far from easy, scattered with countless sacrifices and setbacks. But thru trial and error, ReP has found his unique voice in hip hop. And with a focused team behind him the tank is never short on motivation. Recognized for an uncompromising hunger by multi-platinum producer B.Darius, ReP‟s been said to remind him of Wyclef Jean and Akon when they both started their own careers.
After the release of his freshman video “Time Waits” in the fall 2001, ReP has been featured on numerous mixtapes for the streets and the ears of the industry such as DJ Blurray Throw-Aways Vol. 2 - Unfinished Business, Baby Paul‟s aka Bpzy (formerly of the Beat Minerz) Mixtape Compilation Underground Veteran 1.5 (+100k downloads worldwide), DJ PMT‟s We Are Mixtapes Vol. 30 and Dopehouse Productions Industry Exec. Promo “Can You Hear Me Now” name a few. ReP isn‟t afraid to step out his comfort zone to make better music, constantly in a creative evolution. His latest promo single is an edgy rock remix titled “Hood Superstar Part 2”, a collaboration with lead vocalist of the 09‟ CMJ featured band Fatkid Dodgeball from Columbus Ohio, and co-produced by Grammy nominated producer Baby Paul. The A-side “Hood Superstar”, features Yung Texxus (the underground voice of Texas & „09 SEA award nominee), produced by and also featuring chi-town‟s Em Snugg of Lock Block Inc. ( 3,900 downloads in the first 28 days)
In „07 ReP extended his hand into the publishing department, launching Pimpin’ My Pen, Inc. For ReP the best is yet to come, winning support from his peers and making countless believers along the way. With experimental projects in the works featuring other CMJ favorites like The Modern Science, he is a volcano stirring underground till it can no longer be contained, determined to make his presence felt in 2010 and beyond.
